All Ladies featured on this page have been personally interviewed by General Manager Ruenrom Jumpaburi ( June ) and are believed to be respecable persons from good ( but not necessarily rich families). Many (but not all) come from farming backgrounds, some will even own land in their own name. Some are quite well educated & may have, or be studying for a degree. Sadly some may also be divorced & even more sadly be a single parent. Their main interest in most cases is a happy & long married life & the best way to pursue this end is to follow the Thai tradition of meeting the family (usually including mother) & seek their approval. Then if their blessing is required (highly advisable) then a dowry ("Sin Sop") is negotiated (by all parties) & paid usually half up front ...( for the protection of the man a pre payment contract can be drawn up & signed at this stage).... The remaining factors normally involved are the marriage ceromony (to be paid for by the parents, a gold necklace ( & maybe wedding/ear rings) & the rental of traditinal wedding clothes for the bride & groom, all paid for by the man).
The value of the "Sin Sop" is dependant on various factors eg: The Bride's beauty (or otherwise), her education level(a doctor or lawyer eyc will be very expensive), her family backgound (rich or not), possessions in her name (eg land/ house etc) and is paid by both foreigners marrying Thais & Thai Thai marriages.
